My OoT FanFic

Sounds like I copied Ectoplasmic Emissary, and I kinda did, but this idea's been brewing my head for a year or two now.



This is meant to be like Link's journal.

Back in the Olde Days, people wrote in a journal every night before bed, so if they died that night, everyone would have known their final thoughts.

This fanfiction will not serve as a walkthrough, but show the joys and horrors behind OCARINA OF TIME as Link journeys through time and shares his feelings, hopes, and dreams with the audience.

Dear Journal,

This is my very first entry!! Today, Saria was showing me how to make a book using various objects in the forest. It's quite convinient, but I wish ink was easier to make...

I've been getting this scary nightmare a lot, recently. I'm standing in a field, in front of a giant house with a peaked roof. I see an old and little girl escape from it on horseback. Then, I turn around and see a scary man on a black horse. his skin is green-ish, he has yellow eyes, red hair, and scary clothes.

Then, I wake up screaming. It's been the same for about a week...

Tonight, I begin to wonder if... if I can be strong enough... will the Deku Tree let me explore outside the woods?


..I guess not...



Dear Journal,
A fairy came to me today!! She's to be my partner from now on! But, I do have sadder news to share.

At the same hour the fairy, Navi, came to me, the Great Deku Tree had been dieing form a parasite in him. I tried. (Reader, imagine Link mourning, and perhaps crying. After all, he's only 10.) But my strength wasn't enough! He died anyway!!



Before he died, he told me that scary man in my nightmare is to blame for his death. He gave me the Kokiri's Emerald, and sent me to Hyrule Castle.

On my way, Saria gave me the Fairy Ocarina as a momento.

"Play this... and remember the forest. And maybe, you'll return to visit one day."

I'll never forget you, Saria...



Dear Journal,
Today, I met a princess! Her name was Zelda, and she seemed to enjoy my prescence. I gave her my Kokiri's Emerald, and she informed me that there are 2 more to collect: The Goron's Ruby and Zora's Sapphire. Looks like I got myself an adventure!

I got to SEE the scary man in my nightmare... His name is Ganondorf. And he's having plans to rule the world!! I also realised that that little girl in my nightmare was Zelda.

Her attendant, Impa, taught me a song on my ocarina to play. She's the older woman in my nightmare.

With that song learned, I headed to where Impa directed me: Kakariko Village.

Dear Journal,
Here I am, inside a cavern with lots of lava pits. I can tell that I'm losing water quickly. Navi's trying to help me push through this. I'm in here because when i arrived at Kakariko, I saw a gate blocking off Kakariko from some place... Well, I proved my connection to the Royal Family to the guard blocking the gate, and I headed up the path from there.

I came across a City, Goron City, where all the gorons there were being starved. Of course, I didn't understand, and suggested that they eat plants and leaves.

They gave me a blank look for that.

I had to calm down the leader there with a song Saria had been teaching me for a while when she'd go into Lost woods... I'd play hat she'd teach me on her ocarina, and of course, we'd be careful not to break this ocarina, or get it dirty with our mouths. We called it, "Saria's Song". After doing so, the leader let me into this cavern, Dodongo's Cavern, because the Dodongos were preventing the Gorons form getting any food inside there, and Dodongo's Cavern held their favorite rocks!

Yes. Gorons eat rocks. I was quite... shocked, too.

Well, I must go. It seems as if the Dodongo have found me, and they've sent in the adults...

Dear Journal,

I did it.

I finally did it!

I was able to overcome all the pitfalls and stuff inside Dodongo's Cavern! Inside, there was one big Dodongo... He was a fast one!! But he wasn't smart. It was easy, throwing bombs into his mouth!

After that, I headed to Zora's Domain, played a diving game with a Zora, and they showed me a shortcut to a place called Lake Hylia. Nonetheless, I found a bottle with a letter inside there. I didn't think to open it, but I DID take it to King Zora, because I had a feeling it had to do with him.

Turns out, his daughter was going to feed their protective god, Jabu-Jabu. You see, Jabu Jabu hadn't been his normal fishy self recently. His daughter, Ruto, went to feed him, and he ended up swallowing the fish... along with the young princess.

Now she's inside Jabu-Jabu, more than likely about to be digested! I had to help her out!

So here I am now, writing to you from inside a large fish. I have been able to find Ruto, but we got separated after I found a boomerang (inside of a fish?!) and a big Octo (INSIDE OF A FISH!?) kidnapped her and hid her somewhere.

I'm guessing she's somewhere up where I started.


Dear Journal,

Do you know what hurts more than sunburn?

A million watts of electricity runing throughout every vein in your body. You feel like you're on FIRE!

I'm guessing that you can tell that I found Ruto now. I'm writing to you from inside the Temple of Time. I must be quiet, otherwise that man, Ganondorf, might find me.

Ruto was near the mouth of Jabu-Jabu. A large parasite, Barinade, was the source of jabu-Jabu anger. Well, using my nifty boomerang, i defeated it!

Zelda gave me the prized possesion of the Royal Family: The Ocarina of Time. This is like holding a goddess in my hands. It can amnipulate the flow of time, control the weather, etc. Then, through telepathy, she taught me the Song of Time.

I cannot write it in here, it MUST stay a secret.

Uh oh, I'm beginning to hear some footsteps from the enterance!! I gotta do what Zelda said: Place the spiritual Stones in the alter, play the Song of Time, get the Triforce, and save Hyrule!


Dear Journal,

What happened? When I went to play that Song of Time, a door called, "The Door of Time" opened up revealing a new sword: The Master Sword. My instinct at the time, because by this time, I knew Ganondorf was approaching, was to immediately grab the blade, and use it if he got near.

I felt far away for a second... a strange feeling around me, I woke up in a fountain... where I found out that the Master Sword had knocked me unconcious for 7 years.

That's right, reader. My Childhood: gone. Innocence: Gone. Of course, i was dazed for a little, but I think I'm getting used to it now.

If you are wondering right now, no, I was not able to get the triforce like I promised Zelda. ...I'm gonna be in big trouble for it, too... Ganondorf beat me to it because I was asleep, and a portal to its resting place was still opened. He used that portal and obtained the Triforce. He's the head honcho now. I... have gone from hero... to rebel because of him. I have been told there's a dragon on Death Mountain now. Whoever rebels gets fed to it.

Today, i took a stroll through Hyrule after 7 years of my absence. I saw no one in the meadow. The grass was all dried up. The sun was hidden behind thick clouds. A distant roll of thunder... never went away.



Wake up from this nightmare, Link, wake up...

Oh, and THE RUPEES ARE MINE!!!!!!! ALL MINE!!!!!!!!

Kokiri Forest has become strange. The land is strewn with monsters. Not a single Kokiri stood outside. And it was non-stop storming. I don't understand. Why would Ganondorf destroy the land HE governs? Wouldn't it make people want to leave? Evil always confuses me.

I had met a young sheikah warrior named Sheik, and he told me that to stop Gaondorf, I'll need the power of the five sages. He told me the first sage is within the Forest Temple, in the Sacred Forest Meadow.

"The sage is a girl I'm sure you know."

None of the Kokiri aged since 7 years ago. I'm not sure why, exactly.

How come they're kids and I'm not? Why am I different?
